47582 County of Norfolk & Class 71 electric loco E5001 stand in the yard at Basingstoke on 25 September 1988. E5001 had been a static exhibit in Basingstoke station, during the Winchfield 150 event. The car park in the background has now been upgraded to a multi-level structure, which blocks the view of the old goods yard stables, which can clearly be seen in this view. The stables have remarkably survived, although now nearly unrecognisable after conversion into a car wash. If you are wondering about the blurred foliage in the top left hand corner of the picture, that is caused by wind movement, as this is a tripod mounted shot, taken at 1/8sec f16 on a 200mm lens.
