47583 County of Hertfordshire rounds the curve between Ascott-under-Wychwood and Shipton on 1 April 1990, after entering the double track section of the Cotswold Line with the 1B31 13:45 Paddington to Hereford service. Amazingly, this was the first down train of the day on a Sunday at the time, passing me at 15:20 - exactly on time. There would be no point in anyone trying to hunt out this location for a picture now, as the field in the foreground was planted with trees shortly after this picture was taken and it is now a well established wood!
