Definitely not the picture I was hoping for! 47585 County of Cambridgeshire traverses Didcot West Curve on 22 September 1990 with the 13:00 Swindon to Oxford football special. Unfortunately a loaded MGR for Didcot Power Station, headed by 58002, has come to a stand at the signal protecting Foxhall Junction, as obviously its path into the power station is blocked by the football special. Few trains use the west curve, and passengers trains are certainly a rarity, but other than the novelty of a pair of trains passing on the curve, this is not the result that I was expecting! |
