47587 passes South Moreton (Didcot East) on 24 October 1989 with the 1A40 09:06 Swansea to Paddington InterCity service. The front end of the loco looks a little battered, but it would have to wait nearly a year before it got a repaint, when it would emerge in Network SouthEast livery.
