47588 Resurgent runs alongside the almost deserted M40 motorway at Rowington on 28 July 1992, as it heads north with the 1E45 16:30 Swindon to Newcastle Royal Mail vans. Although the first section of the M40 opened in 1967, this final section had only been opened just over a year when this picture was taken.
