47606 Odin races through Heyford station on 14 April 1984 with the 1O52 07:38 Wolverhampton to Brighton InterCity service. This loco was one of the early Western Region namings, receiving its Norse God name whilst numbered D1666 in March 1965, just a few days after it entered traffic. It retained its Odin name when it received the TOPS number 47081 in February 1974, and again when it was converted to a 47/4 just a few months before this picture was taken.
