47613 North Star passes Hungerford Common on 3 September 1984 with the 1A83 10:45 Penzance to Paddington service. This was one of the handful of Western Region Class 47s that were named in the 1960s. As D1661, it received the name at ceremony performed by Ray Gunter, Minister of Labour, at Paddington station on 20 March 1965.
