47616 Y Ddraig Goch/The Red Dragon passes Colton Junction on 27 May 1990 with the 5V94 10:10 Neville Hill to York ECS. This was prior to working the 1V94 11:20 York to Paddington service. Mixed rakes of coaches were common at this time, but they were usually a bit more random than this four blue and grey, followed by five InterCity formation. Note the Colton South Junction sign. This is not really a junction, but merely a set of crossovers. The real Colton Junction (Colton North Junction), where the Leeds line joins the East Coast Mainline, is a little further to the north. |
