47631 passes Langley on 6 November 1986 with the 8Z64 Westbury to Harlow Mill, conveying stone loaded in vintage vacuum braked MCV 16 ton open wagons. I was a bit surprised to see an ETH Class 47/4 on this working, as the usual traction was a Class 47/0 or a pair of Class 37s. This is one of those workings that I knew nothing about at the time, or otherwise I would have made an effort to get more pictures of it. The easily available gen of today, with the more varied and prolific traffic of the 1980s would be an ideal combination!
