47638 County of Kent passes through Cholsey cutting on 4 September 1987 with the 1E63 10:38 Poole to Newcastle service. It took a long time for the then new InterCity livery to be applied to all coaching stock, and in 1987 the sight of a single InterCity coach in an otherwise blue and grey rake was quite common.
