In May 1989 a rake of Mk1 coaches were converted into 'The Travelling College', comprising classrooms, staff vehicles and dormitory coaches. Finished in an unusual brown, cream and red livery, it certainly made an interesting sight. I only saw it once, on 26 May 1989. It is pictured heading eastbound, past the site of Knighton Crossing (near Uffington), behind 47662.
