47804 races through Beaulieu Road station on 30 November 1989 with the 1O09 08:18 Manchester Piccadilly to Poole service. Not a very good picture, due to the shadows, but this is my only picture of a Class 47 in the New Forest. The Beaulieu Road name is a clue that the station is in the middle of nowhere. Just a few houses and a hotel where the B3056 road crosses the railway. The village of Beaulieu is over 3 miles distant.
