After not having much luck with the sun for the preceding 1Z78 07:22 Bolton to Cardiff special, a brief burst of sunshine provides perfect illumination here. However it was only just in time, as the clouds were rolling in fast. Note that the field in the background is already partly in shade. The loco is in Virgin CrossCountry livery, with the branding painted out and a small Freightliner logo applied under the cab window.
