47828 & 47614 pile on the power for the ascent of Sapperton Bank, as they pass St Mary's Crossing on 31 August 2022 with the Statesman Rail 1Z24 06:11 Wolverhampton to Weymouth 'Dorset Coast Statesman' railtour. Unfortunately the weather forecast was totally wrong. Instead of the predicted sunny early morning, followed by more cloud later, the reverse happened, and in the Stroud area it was almost completely cloudy. This was particularly annoying, as this is one of the few locations in the Golden Valley that would have been perfectly lit at this time of year.
