50001 Oxford 2 April 1983

The good old days! What could be better than a rail blue Class 50 on a train of blue and grey stock complete with blue GUV, pictured in lovely soft early morning spring light. 50001 Dreadnought pulls away from Oxford station on 2 April 1983 with the 1A10 06:00 Hereford to Paddington service. The loco, which is surprisingly clean for a Class 50 at the time was the fourth of the class to be refurbished and one of only six to be released from Doncaster in the original livery. Note the crudely applied number one on the former headcode box.
