50001 Dreadnought finds a lucky patch of sunshine, as it passes Worting Junction on 24 May 1986 with the 1V09 09:10 Waterloo to Exeter service. This is one of my earliest pictures of Class 50s on the former Southern Railway West of England route. At the time there was plenty of Class 50 action in my local area, and it was only because I was en-route to Croydon for non railway purposes that I called in here. It would be a different story a few years later, when in 1991, I would spend virtually every free moment photographing 50s on the route. |
