How different Hinksey Yard looked in the 1980s! 50004 St Vincent passes the empty yard on 28 July 1983, as it nears journey's end with the 1A38 14:15 Paddington to Oxford service. It's original freight marshalling use a thing of the past, occasional staging of trains, and later storage of redundant stock, was all it was used for until it was turned into a ballast stockpile in the late 1990s.
