A work stained 50005 Collingwood passes Chilson with the 1B16 09:55 Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill service on 31 August 1986, running approximately 20 minutes late. This location, which is incidentally the site of Charlbury water troughs, has become progressively more grown up since this photo was taken, although the dead elm tree in the background had gone by the following year. It used to be a favourite photographic spot of mine, as it is one of the few locations on the Cotswold Line where the sun is on the nose as early as midday (as here) for northbound trains. |
