50005 Collingwood passes Chilson with ballast empties returning from Sunday Cotswold Line engineering work on 22 May 1988. The loco was not officially allocated to the DCWA engineers pool for another two months. I only ever saw two Class 50s used on engineering work on the Cotswold Line, 31s & 47s being more normal motive power for the extensive work carried out on the southern section of the line in 1984-6. The later version of Network SouthEast livery on a loco employed on an engineers train is certainly noteworthy. |
