50007 Sir Edward Elgar & 50033 Glorious speed past Toton on a miserably dull 7 November 1992 with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z42 05:17 Eastleigh to York 'Minster Marauder' railtour. I felt I had to include this picture, despite its very poor technical quality (poor weather and Fujichrome RF50 is not an ideal combination!), as a pair of Class 50s passing Toton depot was at the time an extremely unusual occurrence. Also, the sheer quantity of classic traction in the view is amazing, with various examples of Class 08, 20, 31, 37, 56, 58 & 60 all clearly visible, to say nothing of the pair of 50s in the foreground. Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station can be seen in the gloom in the background.
