50007 & 50049 Moreton-in-Marsh 8 September 2018

A welcome return of Class 50s to the Cotswold Line. 50007 Hercules & 50049 Defiance (masquerading on this side only as 50006 Neptune & 50011 Centurion respectively) arrive at Moreton-in-Marsh on 8 September 2018 with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z54 15:35 Weymouth to East Midlands Parkway 'Wessex Wanderer' railtour. The train was not booked to stop here, but the late running 1W07 17:22 Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street HST had not yet cleared the section, so the 50s came to a stand in the station. This was very fortunate, as it was getting dark, and although it would have been possible to take a picture of the train moving at speed, this slow moving train 'only' required the use of ISO1600! The last time Class 50s passed this way was in 1999, with another Pathfinder Tour, the 1Z90 08:14 Reading to York 'Hunslet Hoover'. Regular Class 50 passengers working over the route ceased in 1989.
