50007 Hercules & 50049 Defiance pass Up Hatherley on 24 August 2024 with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z72 06:05 Taunton to Aberdeen 'Grampian Highlander' railtour, day one of a three day tour of Scotland. For some reason this left Gloucester much earlier than booked, and was running 16 minutes early here. It then had to wait in Cheltenham station until the booked departure time, in the process holding up a couple of other trains. I was surprised that there were no other photographers at this well known location. The weather may have been poor, but this is the loco's first outing since being painted into large logo livery. Although it had been raining earlier, and would start raining again almost immediately after, while I was waiting here it had very conveniently stopped.
