50007 Sir Edward Elgar weaves onto the single track section of line at Ascott-under-Wychwood with the 1A18 07:00 Hereford to Paddington 'Cathedrals Express' on 10 September 1986. There is a rail enthusiast cat in this picture, which although not very obvious here, can clearly be seen on the original 6x7 Ektachrome slide. Sitting on the end of the wall on the left of the picture a tabby watches as the loco passes by. Usually the racket from a Class 50 sends most animals scurrying for cover, but this cat just sat and watched the train go by!
