Not a very good quality picture, but my only sighting of 50007 Hercules on the Cotswold Line prior to its transformation into green liveried Sir Edward Elgar. On 20 February 1982 it speeds through Hanborough station with the 12:50 Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill service. Note the recent felling of the steam age telegraph poles. This location is now a complete tunnel of trees, but here the view of Hanborough station (complete with disused down platform) is uninterrupted. |
