50007 Sir Edward Elgar stands in the rain at Oxford station on 24 March 1984 with the Class 50 Railtours 1Z36 07:40 Paddington to Carlisle 'Border City' railtour. In those Kodachrome 64 days, there was no other choice of local location to photograph this, as the light was so poor the exposure was 1/60sec f2.8 (note the moving windscreen wiper). It was purely a record shot, as I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, as the loco had only just been painted into this non-standard green livery, complete with cast numberplates, nameplates and crests.
