Easily outpacing the traffic on the nearby M5 motorway, 50008 Thunderer & 50015 Valiant approach Cullompton on 4 May 1991 with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z16 Penzance to Manchester Piccadilly 'Cornish Centurion 2' railtour. This was a re-run of the hugely popular 'Cornish Centurion' railtour than ran four months earlier, and saw both of these locomotives appear in public for the first time in these distinctive liveries. Thankfully this second train was blessed with much better weather.
