Due to the very late running of the 5Q96 11:36 Tyseley to Long Marston stock move on 10 February 2022, it was obvious that the returning 6Z96 15:27 Long Marston to Kings Norton On Track Plant Depot barrier vehicles was also going to be late, but I thought it was worth the wait, as there should still have been a change of some decent light as it approached Honeybourne. However, by the time it appeared around from behind the bushes, the sun had sunk so low that all of the track appeared to be in shadow. I decided to fire off a series of shots as it approached the stop board, and amazingly, the front of the loco became fully lit for just a few seconds, before it moved back into the shadows again. Due the crew now being out of hours, it only travelled a few more yards, before parking up for the night.
