This is what you call a real train! In the 1980s Class 50s regularly worked 'Jumbo' trains of fourteen coaches to the west of England, but here 50031 Hood has eighteen (yes, eighteen!) Mk 1s in tow as it passes Bourton on 21 October 1983. Unfortunately I have been unable to identify the working. Presumably a special ECS working (5Z??), as the working timetable makes no mention of any westbound loco hauled train at around this time.
