50031 Hood & D444 pass Dorrington on 22 August 1999 with a Cardiff Central to Shrewsbury special. The 1872 built Dorrington signal box is switched out, so there was no help from the signals as regards when the train was approaching. However, a pair of 50s give plenty of warning of their approach! The pair returned a short while later.
