50031 Hood passes Exminster in extremely poor light on 14 November 1990 with a ballast train bound for Exeter Riverside Yard. 50031 was allocated to the DCWA engineers pool between 27 May 1990 and 25 January 1991, before returning to passenger use, although from 1991 it was used on the West of England Line, rather than working out of Paddington.
