50031 Hood passes Farleaze (near Hullavington) on 5 May 1986 with the 3A12 06:45 Milford Haven to Old Oak Common empty newspaper vans. This location has changed considerably since this picture was taken, and I don't just mean by the absence of Class 50s and newspaper trains! The farmer has removed the shallow ditch that can be seen crossing the field in the background, and a wood has been planted on right hand side of the line. Recently an electrification depot has been established in the field on the left, which will no doubt take everyone by surprise when it floods, as the field does every winter!
