Class 50 halted by a barrel! Whilst working the 1Z11 12:33 Treherbert to Merthyr Tydfil special on 9 August 1998, 50031 Hood encountered this obstruction on the approach to Merthyr Tydfil. After a short delay, a couple of members of the train crew removed three blue plastic barrels from the line. A quick lens change enabled this view of the action, before switching back to a more normal focal length, as I wanted to include the highly appropriate Hoover factory in the picture.
