50032 Courageous pulls out of Kingham station in crisp evening light on 26 May 1986 with the 1B56 18:07 Paddington to Hereford 'Cathedrals Express'. This was one of my favourite locations on the Cotswold Line in the 1980s, especially helpful when using a Pentax 6x7 with ISO 100 film, as the train's slow speed meant that a fast shutter speed was not required, therefore allowing an aperture that would give reasonable depth of field. Unfortunately this location is no longer accessible, and would not now offer a clear view anyway. |
