50032 Courageous is still wearing the original version of Network SouthEast livery, albeit in extremely scruffy condition as it passes Willand on 1 August 1990 with a southbound ballast train. An hour earlier 50042 Triumph had passed by with the very similar 6C55 14:37 Bristol East to Exeter Riverside departmental working. At the time It was the only member of the DCWA fleet to wear this inappropriate livery. Just beyond the bridge in the background is the site of Tiverton Junction, where the branches from Tiverton and Hemyock joined the main line. The station remained open after the branch lines closed but was finally closed in 1986 and replaced by new station a few miles to the north close to the M5 called Tiverton Parkway. |
