Snowplough fitted 50033 Glorious passes Cholsey on 18 February 1990 with the 1F78 14:45 Paddington to Oxford Network SouthEast service. At the time I knew that the Class 50s only had a few more months left in traffic in the Thames Valley, but I would never have imagined that a quarter of a century later this location would itself become history, at least from a photographic point of view. There was certainly no prospect in the 1990s of the Great Western Mainline ever being electrified, but in 2015 the masts are already despoiling this view. |
