50033 Glorious & D400 stand at Pontycymer on 4 April 1992, having just arrived with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z16 06:05 Manchester Piccadilly to Ebbw Vale 'Hoovering Druid' railtour. This was the end of the freight only line from Tondu, although originally the line continued for another mile to Blaengarw Colliery. Much has changed in this view. The track the locos are standing on has been lifted, and a tennis court now stands where the first coaches are. However, the fledgling Garw Valley Railway preservation group has a base a short distance past the large white industrial building. The chapel and houses on the right have also been demolished.
