50036 Victorious passes under the lofty Grintleyhill Bridge, near Combe with the 1B31 13:45 Paddington to Hereford service on 13 November 1988. The loco is just about to cross the River Evenlode, which the Cotswold Line encounters numerous times en-route to Moreton-in-Marsh. Note the red buffer beam. This was normally only a feature of the locos in the large logo with black roof colour scheme, and although the roof looks black here, that is just the inevitable result of four exhaust ports! As can be seen from the former headcode box it does in fact have a grey roof. |
