50037 Illustrious speeds past Potbridge on 28 April 1991 with the 1L08 10:24 Salisbury to Waterloo Network SouthEast service. Note the variation in livery between the loco and coaches, with the loco sporting the later darker blue, whereas the coaches retain the original lighter shade of NSE blue. Potbridge was an ideal location for observing Class 50s (or anything else) on the West of England route, as the view is reasonably unrestricted in both directions. A few minutes after taking this picture, 50049 appeared from the opposite direction. |
