50037 Illustrious passes Wolvercote on 10 July 1987 with the 1V87 16:32 Wolverhampton to Paddington InterCity service. Although there was a booked Class 50 to Wolverhampton at this time, this wasn't it, and it was a bit of a welcome surprise to see Illustrious instead of the expected Class 47. By 1987 there was limited scope to get pictures of Network SouthEast liveried 50s hauling blue and grey and InterCity liveried Mk2 air-cons. The houses of Wolvercote Green can just be glimpsed on the right.
