50040 Leviathan passes Bledington Heath on 11 April 1987 with the 1B46 17:07 Paddington to Hereford service. The very poor quality of the image is explained by being taken late on a dull spring day, but also by the fact that for some reason I pressed the shutter way too soon, so this has had to be pulled up from a small section of the original Kodachrome 64 transparency, However, this is the only occasion that I visited this location until very recently, and as it looks nothing like this now, due to three decades of tree growth, the picture has some historic interest. The lack of trees means that the houses in Meadow Way and New Road in Kingham can be seen in the background. |
