A ridiculously easy load for a Class 50! 50040 Centurion passes Yarnton on 14 June 1988 with the 4M17 20:23 Oxford to Birmingham New Street parcels. Unfortunately I have got very few pictures of this interesting working, although that is not too surprising in view of the fact that it was only possible to photograph it during a few days in mid summer. The use of a Type 4 locomotive on this diminutive train is not as stupid as it would appear, as after working the 1F52 17:32 Paddington to Oxford Network SouthEast service, the loco's next passenger diagram was the 1O81 23:14 Birmingham New Street to Reading, so a single coach mail train is better than a light engine movement! |
