When 50041 Bulwark slid on its side into Paddington on 23 November 1983 after derailing with the 21:35 Penzance to Paddington sleeper train, I thought I was going to be thwarted in my attempt to photograph every Class 50, as at that time it was one of the few I had yet to photograph. Feeling sure that it would be scrapped, I was pleasantly surprised when repairs were authorised and then on 12 September 1985 I finally managed to get a picture of it. The mist is just lifting as it approaches Appleford Crossing with the 1F12 08:10 Paddington to Oxford service. |
