50041 Bulwark passes Ascott-under-Wychwood signal box on 3 July 1987 with the Fridays only 1B64 19:09 Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill InterCity service. All other weekday Cotswold Line trains were either HSTs or DMUs by this date, hence the reason for taking this picture in such poor light. It was one of those summer days were the sun gradually fades out into high cloud. It had actually been reasonably bright at the booked time, but this was most unusually running 20 minutes late.
