50043 Eagle approaches Circourt Bridge, Denchworth, on 27 October 1982 with the 1A01 08:02 Worcester Shrub Hill to Paddington service. Modern day photographers may complain that this location has been virtually ruined by the installation of 25kV catenary, but prior to the mid 1980s there was not only a clump of trees on the north side of the line, but a corresponding group on the south side. This caused problems with shadows, as can be seen here. Two months to go until the shortest day, and the shadows are already just touching the up line.
