Viewed from Walton Well Road bridge, 50043 Eagle approaches Oxford on 21 August 1982 with the 1V78 10:34 Manchester Piccadilly to Paddington InterCity service, which it would have taken over at Birmingham New Street. I have no idea why the framing is so poor on this picture. Admittedly I had only been taking pictures for a few years by 1982, but even then I should have known not to crop out the sky! However, a sharp 35mm Kodachrome slide, taken in full sun, of an unfreburbished Class 50 is always worth including, despite the dodgy camerawork!
