50044 Exeter worked the PTG Railtours Euston to Holyhead 'Snowdon Ranger' railtour over the weekend of 3 & 4 September 2011. The Saturday was dull, and I was also otherwise engaged with some other classic traction on my local line. Despite the fact that I was unable to travel as far west as I would have liked, I wasn't going to miss the opportunity of seeing a single blue 50 on the mainline, especially with the added novelty of Virgin stock complete with DVT. I had to opt for one of the poor 'under the wires' locations, in this case Bradnock's Marsh, near Berkswell, to see the tour return from Wales on Sunday 4 September. Running as the 1Z51 13:14 Llanwrwst to Euston, 50044 with DVT 82126 directly behind heads homewards in some pleasant evening sunshine. 57304 is on the rear of the train.
