One of the highlights of the East Lancashire Railway's Diesel Gala over the weekend of 1 to 3 July 2011 was the use of 50044 Exeter, recently outshopped in gleaming BR blue livery. Here it is seen passing the old quarry at Heap Bridge on Sunday 3 July with the 2J82 15:26 Rawtenstall to Heywood service. The fact that there were no other photographers standing in the usual spot here meant I was able to include the large bush as a frame for the picture.
