50046 Ajax passes the long closed station at Dinton on 6 April 1991 with the 2V11 11:15 Waterloo to Exeter St Davids Network SouthEast service. The station closed in 1966, but with the singling of the line the following year, the former up line was retained as a headshunt for the nearby MoD depot. There are plenty of period features in this view, including the typical Southern Railway concrete PW hut, complete with knife sharpening stone, and just visible in the far distance is a loading gauge at the end of the up loop.
