50046 Ajax emerges from Wickwar Tunnel on 30 May 1989 with the lightly loaded 9C04 14:54 Gloucester to Bristol East Yard departmental working. One of those occasions when only having one Pentax 6x7 was a severe disadvantage. At the time it was loaded with B&W film and consequently this is from a 35mm slide. With just one 6x7 a decision had to be made whether to load it with colour (which would only be usable if the sun stayed out) or B&W. Normally the expected weather conditions immediately changed once the film was loaded. Two years after this picture was taken the problem was solved by buying a second 6x7 body. I shudder now to the think of the weight of equipment I used to carry around!
