Photographed from on top of a very conveniently placed Second World War concrete bunker, 50049 Defiance runs alongside the River Towy estuary at St Ishmael on 15 July 2006 with the 1B97 13:35 Fishguard Harbour to Cardiff Central Arriva Trains Wales service. Initially this started out as a Saturdays only train, but was later run during the week as well. Obviously it brought quite a few Class 50 bashers to West Wales and it also introduced the odd combination of a large loco 50 hauling turquoise liveried Arriva coaches. |
